starlings
hammer at
suet
           hungry
from habit
sparrows bicker

now comes the crested
jay screaming

More! More!

so human is he
having his way
over the lesser, feathered
bipeds

so they bicker
& so they feed—

sparrows & starlings,
juncos & jays 

all the pretty
little dinosaurs
